Chicken Feather Patterns


Chicken feathers come in lots of colors and patterns. It is important that chickens have colors and patterns because they can be camouflage. You need a chicken to be camouflage so that a big bird like an eagle or hawk won't carry them away. White chickens and yellow don't camouflage well because there is not a lot of white or yellow in the backyard.  

Some patterns are:
barred
penciled
spangled
double laced
mille fleur
stippled
edged
striped 
laced
